Schools Guide provides one-stop-shop for school information

NSBR and partners work to inform parents about quality school options

Navigating the school enrollment procedures, timelines and requirements in our city can be challenging for even the most in-the-know parents. As the number of types of schools and governing authorities IN Baton Rouge continues to grow, the need for a comprehensive guide became clear. Until now, there has not been a single place to learn about all of the options and how to navigate them. NSBR and partners, including Mayor Sharon Weston Broome, have joined together to produce a resource guide for area families. Launching this January, Red Stick Schools Guide and redstickschools.org will assist families in evaluating school choices.

The Red Stick Schools Guide will provide families with access to comprehensive information about school options in the Baton Rouge community. School profiles in the guide include all district, private, charter and Catholic schools. The full-color publication offers a resource for newcomers and long-time residents alike. The guide empowers parents with information so they can make informed school choice decisions and better understand the city’s educational landscape.

The Red Stick Schools Guide will be distributed across the city, and partners will host workshops for parents on using the information in the guide to assist with selecting a school. This comprehensive resource for families will provide a much-needed tool for accessing Baton Rouge's school options.
