NSBR Congratulates Dr. James Llorens on appointment as President of Cristo Rey Baton Rouge High School.

Baton Rouge, LA. (March 24, 2015) – New Schools for Baton Rouge (NSBR) congratulates Dr. James L. Llorens on his appointment as president of Cristo Rey Baton Rouge High School. The school, where students will participate in both a rigorous college preparatory education and a corporate work-study program, is working toward an anticipated Fall 2016 opening. Llorens previously served as the chair of the feasibility committee for the school.

“Dr. Llorens’ familiarity with both education and the Baton Rouge community make him a perfect fit for the role. He will be a driving force in delivering an innovative new school opportunity to families. We are excited to continue working with Dr. Llorens in his new role at Cristo Rey Baton Rouge High School.” said Chris Meyer, CEO of NSBR. “NSBR has been actively engaged in the recruitment process for Cristo Rey through our support of the feasibility committee. Cristo Rey will help address the urgent need for high quality schools of all types in Baton Rouge.”

Cristo Rey Baton Rouge High School will be a Catholic learning community that educates young people of limited economic means to become men and women of faith, purpose and service. The Cristo Rey network is made up of 28 schools serving 9,000 students in 26 cities. The network has a 96% graduation rate, a 100% college acceptance rate, and a 90% college enrollment rate.
