New Schools for Baton Rouge Names Director of Development

Baton Rouge, LA. (Nov. 12, 2015) – New Schools for Baton Rouge (NSBR) has named Sara Simpson to the position of director of development. Simpson will lead the organization’s development efforts, ensuring the organization fulfills its mission of ensuring every child in Baton Rouge has access to an excellent school.“We are excited to welcome Sara to the NSBR team to lead our development efforts,” said Chris Meyer, CEO of NSBR. “Sara is uniquely suited for this role having worked as an elementary English teacher, as an associate at Boston Consulting Group and most recently at Teach For America. Her professional experiences and passion for education will be tremendously valuable in our work to advance quality educational options for all students."Simpson comes to NSBR from Teach For America (TFA) where she she oversaw strategy and operations for over half of the organization's annual fundraising in Greater New Orleans, including public grants and contracts, national foundation funds, and high net-worth individual giving. Simpson began her career working for the French Ministry of Education as an elementary English teacher in Romorantin, France. After completing her 1L year as a Scholar in Law at Washington University in St. Louis, she accepted an Associate position at the Boston Consulting Group, where she helped several Fortune 500 clients analyze and implement cost efficiency initiatives. Her passion for education and social justice ultimately led her to return to the education sector, where she is excited to be able to offer a unique perspective and set of experiences to help advance quality educational options for all students.Simpson holds a B.A. in Government, with honors, and a French minor from the University of Texas at Austin.
