Gwen Hamilton has been presented the Champion of Student Success award from City Year, a national educational organization.The award is presented to those who “have generated transformative impact” for the schools and students City Year serves.Hamilton served on the founding committee bringing City Year to Louisiana 10 years ago and remains an active member of the City Year Baton Rouge advisory board, working to put AmeriCorps members in classrooms. City Year Baton Rouge has deployed 64 AmeriCorps members to six Baton Rouge public schools this year.
