Community Impact Grant Celebration

On Tuesday, March 26, 2024, New Schools for Baton Rouge honored its 2024 Community Impact Grant recipients with a recognition ceremony at the Manship’s Hartley Vey Theatre. Sixteen local non-profit organizations were awarded grants totaling $205,000 to support their work and programs in five areas: Equity, Student Growth, Family and Community, Youth Empowerment, and Out-of-School Activities.

The 2024 Community Impact Partners are:

  • Baton Rouge Youth Coalition, Inc.
  • BR STEM Institute
  • Father’s On A Mission
  • Girls on the Run – South Louisiana
  • I AM - Empowering the Next Generation
  • Kids’ Orchestra
  • Line 4 Line
  • New Beginners, Inc.
  • Power Pump Girls, Inc.
  • Red Stick C.A.R.E.S.  
  • The BRidge Agency, Inc.  
  • The Center for Literacy & Learning  
  • The Walls Project  
  • Urban Restoration Enhancement Corporation
  • Young Entrepreneurs Academy of Baton Rouge

“We are so excited to be able to invest much-needed resources and support to these organizations and programs,” said NSBR CEO Ken Campbell. “If we are going to transform the educational landscape of Baton Rouge, it is going to take a community-wide effort, and these folks are on the frontlines.”  

Attendees had the opportunity to network and learn about the organizations' work, programs, and services.  

The Community Impact Grant program started in 2019, and NSBR has awarded more than $525,000 to local organizations. Applications for the 2025 Community Impact Grants will open in October 2024. To learn more, visit newschoolsbr.org/community-engagement.
